Happy Mother’s Day
The world celebrates Mother’s Day today. Talking about mother, there is a picture that I hardly can erase from my memory. It’s a photo of an orphaned Iraqi girl who missed her mother so much, and drew an image of her mother on the ground. She then felt comfortable with the mother’s image, and fell asleep inside her.
What a heartbreaking image. This picture made me so sad, imagining what kind of life with eternal longing for a mother’s love.
This picture reminded me to a Chinese song my mother used to sing by whispering to my ears:
Mom is the best in the world; the child with a mom is always be cherished;
drop into mom’s arms, the happiness can be enjoyed forever.
Mom is the best in the world; the child without a mom is like a grass;
leave mom’s arms, where to find the happiness?
You know how lucky you are, who have access to internet to read this post. You live in a peaceful country without the suffering of wars and disasters, you know what peace is and what love is. And how grateful you should be, to have a mother who loves you always.
I lost my mother five years ago. I used to think that mother would always be there for me. I thought there would be always my “sometime later” to be dedicated for Mom. Until I saw her on her death bed. That day I just realized how little I understood my mother, how almost nothing I knew about her struggle and waiting, and how meaningless the love I shared to her compared what she shared for me.
When the chance is still there, show your love to your mother. Never wait until you regret.
Happy Mother’s Day.
nice 🙁
So sad
Thank you for sharing this story..I only can send my prayers for those children and be thankful that I still have my mother by my side..
I just finished watching an old movie, Love Happens, and realize how hard losing is. I lost my bestfriend 7 years ago and 1 years later, I lost my father. The good news is I still can stand until this moment. Losing teach me about gratitude. Now, thank God, I still have healthy-beauty-mommy to be caring and loving. Thankyou for the article. I do love your books.
